New Entry Policy for Region:

The band division voted in a new policy for Region Orchestra entries in May of 2003.  For each instrument, a school can enter the number of students that there are chairs available in the region orchestra + 1 (example - there are 2 piccolo chairs in the orchestra, so each school can enter 3).  Each school is also given a total of 5 wildcard entries.  If a school has 3 strong piccolo players, they can enter 3, using one of their 5 wildcards.  The total number of students a school can enter is 59.

Each school is limited to the following number of entries:

Flute 5
Oboe 3
No English Horn this year.  
Bb Clarinet 5
Bassoon 5
Trumpet 5
French Horn 7
Tenor Trombone 3
Bass Trombone 2
Tuba 2
Percussion 6
Wild Cards 5 total (used in any combination)

 

Entry Deadline:  The on-line computer entry must be completed and all necessary forms and payment postmarked on or before Saturday, October 28, 2006.  Send all forms and payment to:

Audition Fee:  $10.00 per student

On-line Entry Program:  Entries must be made through the TMEA on-line entry program.  Only TMEA members can log on and enter their students.  Students, please check with your teacher for more information.  Teachers, click on the link to the TMEA website and follow the instructions for registering yourself and entering your students.  www.tmea.org 

Time Preference:  Please do not select time preferences for students - all students will be in the morning, with possible phase auditions in the morning and a second phase audition in the afternoon.  Auditions are at Anderson High School  8403 Mesa Drive Austin Texas.

Entry Forms:  The following forms must be mailed to the Region Chair by October 28, 2006:

  •   Official Entry Form (printed from audition entry program) including current copy of TMEA card

  •   5A Tracking Form (if applicable)

  •   School check for audition fees made payable to "TMEA Region 18 Orchestra"
